Whole Heliconius Melpomene Butterfly Choker 4 wings

Choker with hooks and silver chain adjustable to different sizes made with real wings of the Heliconius Melpomene butterfly, closely related to other variants of the Heliconius butterfly so it is sometimes difficult to distinguish them. 

Those butterflies that die after completing their life and reproductive cycle are collected to give them a second life as an original, colorful and magical jewel like a Butterfly.

Pieces made in collaboration with MUSHOS MUSUK, a Spanish butterfly farm, and its collaborators, whose objective is educational dissemination, breeding and reproduction of butterflies for their release. NO BUTTERFLY HAS BEEN BREEDED OR KILLED FOR THE CREATION OF THESE JEWELS.

ANDIt is one of the few butterflies that collects and digests pollen conferring considerable longevity to adults (several months). Adults roost in groups, returning to the same spot each night
